Signals & Smart Systems Lab

L3S is one of the 18 research structures of the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT), created in 2003. It welcomes around 20 researchers with balanced profiles between Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, and IT.

L3S works towards a convergence of signals and systems by developing tools for a wide range of user-oriented applications, while adding an extra dimension, that of statistics, which accentuates the power of the hybrid tools developed.
This enables the design, the development, and the performance analysis of transversal algorithms in statistical 1D-signal processing and 2D/3D-image processing as in systems analysis, including a real-time approach to machine learning algorithms.
Thanks to its immersion in the multidisciplinary environment of the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT), the oldest and most prestigious Tunisian public engineering school, with its 5 departments and 9 engineering degree courses, L3S has gained cross-disciplinary expertise in signals, signals & AI, AI in 1D, 2D and 3D that can be innovatively applied and transferred to various fields.
L3S also benefits from ENIT's strong RDI environment, which is anchored in the national and international industrial ecosystem through its national, European and Euro-Mediterranean RDI projects.
